Sunday Lunch

We are all typically starving when we get home from church on Sunday!! It is about 2 hours past our normal lunch time and our van is filled with noisy stomach growls all the way home!!
Someday I will try to be superwoman and have a hot lunch simmering in the crock pot, with wonderful smells oozing out when we get home, but until that day (precisely - NEVER) we do leftovers or simple sandwiches.
I thought it would be fun (for me anyway) to do a price breakdown and figure out how much our lunch cost today. I just divided the item cost by how much we used. I'm sure it isn't perfect but I think it is pretty close.

4 Lunchables $0.00
Bread $0.08
Organic broccoli $0.90
Organic carrots $0.24
2 cans of Pringles $2.00
lunch meat $0.70
lunch cheese $.10
condiments $0.05
water to drink $0.00
Total = $4.07

And everyone was full and happy when we were done!!!
Now we are going out into the sun, that is finally out, to get our Vitamin D!!!

Do Not Grow Weary

Galatians 6:9 Do not grow weary in doing good for in due season we shall reap if we do not loose heart.

As a parent, I am weary by 5pm every day! I need to remember that even though at times,I do not think I can last through another temper tantrum, see another mess made, or hear more complaining, I must not loose heart.
My purpose for "doing good " raising my kids, is to expose them to the gospel as much as I can. Certainly, that is worth the weariness at 5pm (and let's be honest, most of the day)!

Exhibit Opening

Over the weekend we were summoned to yet another activity involving my husband's art.
2 of his paintings were picked to be shown in a local Watercolor exhibit. There were 297 pieces sent in and only 56 were chosen.
I am so proud of him! I would love to do this EVERY weekend!!

Here is Henry in the middle of the exhibit room. Eating a strawberry and pretending to be a dog. Oh, yeah. He is into performance art!

Here is Ben. Eating. Again. I think my kids ate about 3/4 of the food set out!!

This is me taking a FLASH picture of Pete's family. Pete's nephew then leaned over to me and whispered, "The sign says no flash photography". I quickly found the nearest rock to hide under. . .

This is Pete, Lilly and I. We are feeling like 2 teenagers, embarrassed by their parents, who are gushing with pride and taking way too many pictures. (Oh, and that is one of my husbands paintings in the back.)

And here is Peter taking a long cool drink. My mom said the punch was spiked and Peter sure did seem to like it A LOT. . .

It was a wonderful day! We were so blessed to have all of our family there to enjoy the day with us.
Congratulations Pete!!
