Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;

Another birthday

We started off St. Patrick's Day with green (and orange) cereal, green bowls and green milk.
bad phone picture!
Of course, our Sweet Angel had the perfect outfit for the day!

After church we went to my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday.

Not sure where all those crazy grandkids came from!!!! :)

When my kids are over there for dinner, my dad makes up stories about a fighter pilot
named Ace Johnson.
Pete did a drawing of Ace Johnson.

And the big boys and I put together a claymation video.
(This is just a small clip of the whole video.)

*Claymation movies are fun but take FOREVER! After hours and hours and hours the whole video was just over 6 minutes!  But we all had a great time putting it together and my dad loved it!

These days. . . (3/16)

Spring is suppose to be coming soon.
I made a wreath out of scraps to welcome it.

My sister helped me with my indoor Spring decorations and painted this blue bird for me.
I cut apart and then reassembled part of our old patio table for it.
Other things I just grabbed from around the house.

I stumbled upon some of the big boys clay creatures.

This is my favorite!

Ben likes to wear his robe around the house for extra warmth.
One of the pockets came off.  He sewed it back on himself!!!

The boys and I spent many hours working on a birthday project for my dad.
(We are giving it to him tomorrow so it is a secret till then. . .)

Through much prayer and better attitudes from Pete and I, this guy is doing better. :)

These Days (3-12)

Henry was really happy that this was his sentence  for school!

I got the brilliant idea to use the shop vac to clean out the fireplace. . .

Forgot about the air it blows out the back! Ash dust COVERING our entire first floor!
(With our Bible Study group of 20 expected that evening)!
Seriously, I was not happy to see this.

We just finished reading this book for school.
I cried through half of it!
The best part of Homeschooling is sitting around talking to my kids about the gospel.
Days such as these make all the hard ones not matter.

We went to Ben's basketball game on Friday night.
It is always sad to me how well the team does, right before the season is over. . .

On Saturday, Pete took the big boys to see the Hobbit in 3D!!

With her brothers at the movies, the little sister was upset to be alone.
So we grabbed her little cousin and went out for some yummy ice cream!!

Braided Rug

I made a braided rug for the Princess' room.

If you want a braided rug, just buy one.  The price you will pay, no matter how much, will be worth it!   This was not a fun project at all!  In fact, it took me YEARS!

In the end, I was so tired of seeing it sit undone that instead spending more time sewing it together,
I glued it!
I think the glue gun might be the best invention ever!

These days. . .

Praise the Lord for new ideas!
I started doing a notebook with Henry for his school day.
And despite what this paper looks like, it is helping a lot.

Right now, Ben is the front runner in getting done with school the fastest.

Lilly chose sandals to go with her outfit on a 25 degree day. :)

After 10 years in our house, we finally have our fireplace up and running!!!
I LOVE doing our History & Science sitting in front of it!

Here is a new painting of Pete's.  I love this one. Makes me think of a cool misty morning. . .
(It's titled "Henry's Field" because Henry was working with Pete out in his studio when he painted it.)

Ben's basketball team.
The past couple of games have had the stands screaming!
Who knew a game of bball among 9 year olds could be so exciting! :)

Homemade English Muffins and canned frutit from last summer for breakfast. Mmmmm. . .
